Trapezoidal-flat blades from 54 to 68 teeth are for laminate, melamine and coated board, where the flat tooth follows the trapezoid to leave a clean edge instead of a chipped one. The 16- and 18-tooth patterns rip solid stock fast. Fine-cut versions are ground for a finished face rather than a fast one.
