The edge bander, which feeds tape from a magazine and presses it down in the same pass. It works on the board or mounted to a bench, and handles straight edges and curves alike. Glue comes from a cartridge and melts only as it is used, so it never sits in a pot darkening and stringing, and changing colour is a cartridge swap rather than a purge. The application system is mounted horizontally so the machine balances, and hand pressure on the grips transfers to the contact roller — you push it along, the machine does the pressing.
