Plunge saws changed how sheet goods get broken down. Running on a guide rail, the blade drops into the cut anywhere along a panel rather than starting at an edge, and the rail's splinter strip gives a clean line on the show face — with a clip-on guard, on both sides of the cut. The 55 mm machine covers most sheet and carcase work; the 75 mm machine takes on thicker stock at 1600 W. For most jobs the cut is finished off the saw, with no need to take it to a table. Blade choice does the rest. Fine-tooth and triple-chip blades from 48 to 76 teeth cut laminate and coated board without chipping the underside; panther blades at 12 to 18 teeth rip solid timber fast; general 18 to 24 tooth blades sit between. Diameters run 160 to 230 mm across the machine range.
