The 75 mm belt sander, for removing material quickly across a flat surface — levelling a glued-up panel, taking finish off a door, dimensioning where a planer would be too aggressive. A belt cuts in one direction and leaves straight scratches that need sanding out afterwards. Used freehand it digs in if you stop moving; with a sanding frame it rides level.
